13 Reasons Why Season 5, is it going to happen?
The Netflix series ended a long time ago, and the showrunners have stated that season four is the “logical” ending for 13 Reasons Why. However, fans are still hopeful and wonder if we are to expect another season.

What is Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why Series About?
The series is based on Jay Asher’s book of the same name.
It was produced by Steve Golin as a tv show, adapting the story of Jay Asher. The first time the series premiered on Netflix was on March 31, 2017, with 13 episodes premiered.
The Plot
13 Reasons Why is based on the New York Times bestselling book by Jay Asher.
The story follows Hannah Baker, a high schooler who commits suicide. Clay, who also goes to the same school, receives a box of tapes from Hannah after killing herself.
The tapes get passed along to other students based on Hannah’s instructions. Later on, Hannah reveals the 13 reasons she took her own life.
Recap of the 13 Reasons Why Season One to Four
The first season is quite good, showing the main storyline of the book adaptation.
Clay receives the box of tape that Hannah Baker recorded. Other episodes also show the storyline of those who were involved in Baker’s suicide.
After season one, the following seasons seem like being really forced and not clear on what stories or messages they are trying to tell.
The following seasons expanded their focus, with episodes that are dedicated to growing the casts of high school students.
13 Reasons Why has been previously criticized for including graphic onscreen portrayals of suicide and rape in their episodes, including a brutal scene where a male character is sodomized with a broom handle.
The last season also drew fire for (spoiler alert) the traumatic death of a fan favorite by HIV/AIDs. Despite these, fans are still wishing to get another season.

Will 13 Reasons Why Season 5 Happen?
Unfortunately, Netflix has confirmed that we will not see 13 Reasons Why Season 5 on the screen.
They explained in a statement that it was purely a creative decision to end the show after series four, which will “feature the core cast’s graduation from High School” as a natural conclusion of the casts and show.
Yorkey shut down the idea of a college spinoff too. “I’d be very interested to see how some of these characters do at college, but I love the idea also of leaving that up to all of our imaginations and making this a four-season high school show,” he said.
Moreover, when they started filming Yorkey, he also said that “Somewhere while making season 2, when it became clear that we might have the chance to make more seasons of this, I pretty quickly got to a place where it felt like a four-season story.”
This is why the show ended only with four seasons.
The fourth and final season of 13 Reasons Why aired on Netflix last June 5, 2020.
