“A League of Their Own” film is one of the movies you can watch all over again! Surely, avid fans know what I’m talking about.
The film tells the story of the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League which existed from 1943 to 1954. It is more than just a baseball story, and instead, it’s a story about what it meant for women to love the game and the struggles they were put through to find their place under the hot stadium.
Although the film is truly great and exceptional, it only deals with the story of one baseball season and one team. Now, we get to see a more in-depth storyline in the upcoming Amazon Prime TV A League of Their Own series.
When will the series Premiere?
Unfortunately, there is no set date yet for the release of the reboot series on Amazon Prime. Instead, we can speculate about the timeline of when it would possibly air.
According to reports, the showrunners began development of the show way back in 2018, early enough to reexamine the story from Penny Marshall herself before her passing in December of that year.
Moreover, production on the pilot episode of the series A League of their Own has already wrapped. Speculators have been eyeing the series to air by 2021 of December. However, because of setbacks and delays caused by the quarantine protocols, it did not happen.
Still, it is safe to say that the show is already greenlit for an entire first season.
What is A League of Their Own About?
According to the co-head of television at Amazon, “Will and Abbi (the producers) have taken a classic movie, reimagining it for a new generation with new characters and their own fresh, modern vision on a timeless story of big dreams, friendship, love, and, of course, baseball.”
For now, we don’t have an idea about the plot yet. But of course, we know for sure that the series will circle baseball, dream, love, and life, respectively.
The show is technically a reimagining of the film with new characters and a decade of true baseball history to play with. However, a big question from the fans is about historical accuracy.
Although the film may be fiction, it still did an excellent service to the true stories of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League by bringing many of the elements of the league’s history into the public interest in the a league of their own ending.
Who will be the cast members to join the show?
The show is actually stacked with a deck full of famous actors. The cast members included are:

- Roberta Colindrez (Birdman, Girls)
- Priscilla Delgado (Julieta, Abracadabra)

Is there a league of their own trailer?
