What is A.P. Bio?

The series is a comedic drama set in Toledo, Ohio, following a former Harvard philosophy professor and scholar named Jack Griffin who has a mid-life crisis and returns to his hometown after missing out on his life’s ambition. The first season was focused on Jack using his unusual and odd high school students to take down the rival scholar who usurped his teaching position rather than teaching them any sophisticated biology. The second and third seasons still feature Jack Griffin utilizing his pupils for wild adventures, but in order to enhance his profession in a number of ways, he appears to be getting just a little more at ease with life in Toledo.

Glenn Howerton is Jack Griffin, bringing a familiar sardonic and sarcastic attitude with him. The hilarious but bumbling Principal Ralph Durbin is played by Patton Oswalt, who tries to maintain Griffin on track but can’t help but be charmed by his devious strategies. Mary Sohn, Lyric Lewis, and Jean Villepique are a trio of lively teachers who add a lot of life and mirth to the show. Paula Pell portrays the unusual school secretary Helen Henry Demarcus in this film, who has a problem with authority and gets dragged into a plot to save her family from being burned at the stake.

However, the stellar cast playing Jack Griffin’s high-schoolers must be recognized. Allisyn Snyder, Miguel Chavez, Spence Moore, Nick Peine, Jacob Houston, Eddie Leavey, Marisa Baram, Jacob Manownnand Sari Arambulo are the six heroines of The Freshmen. Teddi Mellencamp, for example, is a secret MVP in every episode, whether it’s her endlessly hilarious reaction shots to Jack’s outrageous behavior or their own adolescent difficulties.

The fourth season of Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why was just released, bringing a new wrinkle to the class by featuring actor Bruce Campbell in the role of Jack Griffin’s father. Previous cast members have included Jon Lovitz, Ron Funches, Nikki Glaser, Taran Killam, Christopher Lloyd, and Tim Heidecker, so hopefully, some more hilarious faces will appear.
