NBC‘s popular crime thriller series ‘The Blacklist’ is returning this year with Season 10. The plot revolves around Raymond Reddington, known as Red, who turned into a high-profile criminal from being a former US Naval Intelligence officer.
Being one of the most wanted fugitives on the FBI’s list, Red surrenders to the FBI voluntarily and cannot capture him for decades. Red offered a deal with them.
He will help them with his “Blacklist”, in which he has accumulated information about the most dangerous criminals in the world but on the condition of gaining immunity from prosecution and working exclusively with Elizabeth Keen, a rookie FBI Special agent criminal profiler.
Plot Line of Season 9 of ‘The Blacklist’:
Since then, the storyline has progressed vastly, with the characters experiencing huge ups and downs and turns of events.
Elizabeth Keen, or Liz, was murdered at the end of Season 8 and following that Red fled the country. At the same time, the task force of FBI Counterterrorism Division’s Assistant Director Harold Cooper gets disbanded.
But eventually, Red and the FBI again become compelled to reunite as Red wants to honour the undertaking of the late Liz by hunting global criminals. Season nine also finds old criminals whom Red used to work with returning to take revenge.
When Is ‘The Blacklist’ Season 10 Releasing?
Showrunner Jon Bokenkamp first came up with the idea of a series based on international crime, and Christopher McQuarrie created the character Keyser Söze on August 13, 2012.
The first season came into existence on September 23, 2013. The premiere episode gained 12.3 million views, making NBC add nine more seasons to the thirteen-episode first season as planned initially.
Season 2 was renewed on December 3, 2013. The previous season was released on October 21, 2021, with The Blacklist Season 10 renewed on February 22, 2022. Season 10 is scheduled to arrive on NBC on February 26, 2023.
Who Are the Primary Cast Members of ‘The Blacklist’ Season 10?
Several old cast members will return in the tenth season of ‘The Blacklist’. However, some primary members have exited the show, including Megan Boone, who portrayed Elizabeth Keen or Liz.
The characters played by James Spader, Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, and Hisham Tawfiq have already been reprised for Season 10.
James Spader-
The lead character of the series, Raymond Reddington or Red, is portrayed by American actor James Spader in the series. He is known for playing eccentric characters in movies.
His necessary film credits include ‘Sex, Lies, and Videotape‘, ‘Jack’s Back‘, ‘Wolf’, ‘Lincoln’, ‘Stargate’ etc. Besides ‘The Blacklist’, Spader has starred in other tv series too.
From 2003 to 2004, he starred in the legal drama series ‘The Practice‘ in the role of Alan Shore. From 2004 to 2008, he reprised this role in the spin-off series ‘Boston Legal’.
In NBC’s famous American mockumentary sitcom, ‘The Office, ‘ Spader portrayed the character of Robert California from 2011 to 2012. He won four Primetime Emmy nominations, winning three of them.
Diego Klattenhoff-
FBI Special Agent on the task force of Cooper- Donald Ressler is portrayed by Canadian actor Diego Klattenhoff in the series.
In the first season of the Canadian drama comedy musical miniseries ‘At the Hotel,’ Klattenhoff starred in the recurring role of Young Jacob in 2006.
Next year he was cast as the recurring character Derek in the second season of the teen drama series ‘Whistler‘. As a recurring character, Ivan Palacinke starred in Season 2 of the romantic comedy-drama series ‘Men in Trees‘ in 2008.
In the central role of Mike Callahan, Klattenhoff starred in the medical drama series ‘Mercy‘ from 2009 to 2010. But his most important role other than ‘The Blacklist’ is of Mike Faber in Showtime’s espionage thriller series ‘Homeland’ from 2011 to 2013.
Harry Lennix-
American actor Harry Lennix portrays Assistant Director Harold Cooper. His other tv series credits include ‘The Client’ in which he played the recurring character Daniel Holbrook and the third season of ‘ER’ in which he played Dr. Greg Fischer.
‘Diagnosis: Murder‘ in which he was cast as Agent Ron Wagner in the fifth season, ‘Commander in Chief’ in which he starred as main character Jim Gardner, ’24’ which cast him as recurring character Walid Al-Rezani in season 6, ‘Little Britain USA’ in which he starred as President of the United States.
‘Dollhouse’, which cast him as the main character Boyd Langton, and ‘Emily Owens, M.D.’ in which he played the recurring character Tim Dupre.
Hisham Tawfiq-
Dembe Zuma, who was the bodyguard and confidant of Red and turned into an FBI special agent in season 9, is portrayed by American actor Hisham Tawfiq in the series. He also appeared in the series ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’, ‘Kings’, ’30 Rock’ etc.
