Key Visual

There is no official key visual for Bleach season 17, but a fantastic illustration from Tite Kubo, the manga artist himself.

The illustration shows Ichigo at the center with his sword exuding a dark aura, and a contrasting vibrant background full of characters behind him.

‘Bleach’ season 17 will begin with the anticipated Thousand-Year Blood Battle, according to a recent Instagram post from Ushio & Tora’s creator, Yasuhisa Watanabe. {It is from the manga’s final arc, which begins from Chapter 480 and stretches from Vol. 55-74.

With Hollow Ichigo s sudden disappearance, chaos breaks out. The Wanderich’s mysterious organization will finally launch their invasion on the Soul Society, bringing about an all-out war between the Shinigami and Quincy.

The Wandenreich is a secret society of Quincy. The Quincy lost a war with the Shinigami a thousand years ago, and they fled to establish a refuge.

They’ve been waiting and building their forces to capture the formerly lost conflict.

The reason for Hollow Ichigo’s disappearance is that he has to go through super-intensive training. So, he can fight against Wandenreich and save the Soul Society.

New Characters

Yhwach is the most significant among the many new characters that will appear in this season, in addition to the rest of Bleach’s characters.

I. Yhwach

The season’s primary antagonist is Yhwach. He is the Father of the Quincy and also the emperor of the Wandenreich.

He is the son of the Soul King, who absorbs the Soul King, gaining a dark mask of eyes covering the upper half of his face.

Bleach Season 17 Episode Count

The Bleach franchise has never had a consistent number of episodes in previous iterations. As such, it has its lowest episode count in season 11, with only seven episodes. The most recent season has 51 installments, which is the greatest total episode count in the history of the series.

So, the upcoming season’s episode count may likely fall anywhere between these numbers. If Bleach season 17 follows the entire arc, which has a length of 218 chapters, it’ll have to produce at least 50 episodes.

About Bleach

Bleach is a Japanese anime television series based on Tite Kubo’s manga of the same name. The anime series is based on Kubo’s manga, but it also includes a few new, original, self-contained narrative arcs.

It is based in Karakura Town on a 15-year-old high school student Ichigo Kurosaki who becomes a substitute for Soul Reaper when Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper, puts Soul Reaper powers in Ichigo. They barely manage to kill the hollow.

He is eventually persuaded to accept the responsibility by his friend, who tells him that if he does not help these poor children, people would be scared of them and avoid their presence.
