Bofuri is slightly different from other anime dramas, which is why a lot has supported the show.
Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense is a Japanese light novel series written by Yuumikan and illustrated by Koin.
The serialization of the series online began in 2016 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. It was acquired by Fujimi Shobo, which published the first light novel volume in September 2017 under their Kadokawa Books imprint.
The anime television series adaptation by Silver Link aired from January to March 2020, and we are anticipating a second season in 2022.
What is the show about?
The show is a game series in which the main protagonist is not the perfectionist of the online video game and does not know how to play games. As we move forward in the first season of Bofuri, the protagonist learns to play the game and how to control her powers and puts her character Maple in the third position.

The viewers and fans have been waiting to know when Bofuri Season 2 will come, as its first original episode came on January 8, 2020, and ran for 12 episodes.
The show’s creators tied up Season 1’s finale with the news that Season 2 is planned for 2022, and fans are happy to hear the announcement because it’s not often that a new anime gets renewed for a second season so quickly.
Bofuri Season 2: Expected Plot
Unfortunately, we do not know what is bound to happen for the second installment of Bofuri.
We can assume that Bofuri Season 2 will follow where Season 1 ended. The finale sees Maple Tree becoming one of the last teams standing in NewWorld Online’s latest community event if you’ve seen the series. Face-to-face with their main competitors, team Holy Sword, Maple Tree’s limits are tested in an epic showdown.
Since there is no formal English synopsis of the following events for Season 2 yet, fans can be sure to see more of Maple goofball her way to success in NewWorld Online‘s VR fantasy world. Many cute moments and laughs will be had once Bofuri Season 2 premieres.

Bofuri Season 2: Cast
Like any other anime series, we can expect to see the original cast for Season 2.
Here is a quick list for your reference:
- Kaedo Honjo – The main protagonist has just started playing NewWorld Online.
- Risa shiromine – Kaede’s real-life friend who introduced her to NewWorld Online.
- Kasumi – A samurai whose speed is on par with Sally.
- Kanade is an androgynous male mage player specializing in intel gathering and puzzle-solving.
- Kuromu – A great shielder like Maple and one of the first players that Maple meets in the game.
- Iz – A crafter who creates order-made equipment. She becomes the guilds crafter.
- May – A rookie player who, unlike Maple, put all of her skill points into strength instead.
- Yui – Mai’s younger sister, who put all of her skill points into power.
- Syrup – Maple’s turtle familiar, whose egg was rewarded after Maple and Sally defeated the Silverwing boss.
- Oboro – Sally’s fox.
But of course, we are also expecting new faces for the new season. There is plenty of action done in the series, and the strength of Bofuri comes with its characters.
