Daredevil was a three-season Marvel television series that aired on Netflix from 2015 to 2018. The Defenders, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher are just a few of the shows situated in the same TV universe as the smash series. Despite a strong reception and a proposition from the show.

Daredevil season 4 cancellation elicited diverse reactions from fans and even critics, sparking social media debate and fan initiatives like #SaveDaredevil.

Daredevil Season 4 Storyline

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has previously announced that Charlie Cox will resume his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, and that the character will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but with the controversies going on is Daredevil Season 4 really happening?

The program was discontinued on Netflix four years ago, but according to speculations, Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil in a fourth season produced by Marvel Studios.

After all, the series returned to Nielsen’s Top 10 charts in December 2021, following the brief presence of Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil (portrayed by Charlie Cox), in Spider-Man: No Way HomeSpider-Man: No Way Home, which prompted renewed interest in the show. Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), Murdock’s arch-nemesis, also made an appearance in Disney+’s Hawkeye storyline that week.

Daredevil Season 4: Renewed or Cancelled?

Vincent D’Onofrio, who portrays Kingpin on Daredevil, spoke with the Marvel News Desk podcast about his experience and response to the Marvel show’s Netflix termination. Thus according Murphy’s Multiverse, the Marvel actor initially expressed dissatisfaction with the cancellation, but afterwards realized why it occurred, as Disney+ was the primary reason for the cancellation. The Kingpin actor then talked on the cast and crew’s emotional roller coaster after learning the news, claiming that they were “disappointed” but that “it’s a business” at the end of the day.

Daredevil Season 4 Renewed Or Cancelled?

Vincent D’Onofrio’s recent comments practically reveal that Disney+ was the driving force for the cancellation of all Marvel episodes on Netflix, not just Daredevil. In some ways, this makes sense, given Marvel Studios and Disney’s goal of centralizing all of their content.

Knight Edge Media reported in October 2021 that Marvel Studios is considering in restarting the Netflix series of the same cast, but only as a soft reboot. This might mean that they’ll play fresh versions of their characters, but they’ll already be well-known in the Marvel Cinematic Reality, thus the events of Netflix’s Daredevil show will take place in a parallel universe, while the MCU counterparts will be essentially different variants.

The rumors were confirmed in December 2021, when the beloved Daredevil cast made their official MCU debuts in two of the month’s major blockbusters.

D’Onofrio’s reappearance to the MCU was first hinted to in Hawkeye season 1’s penultimate episode, with his character expected to play a bigger role in the finale. Meanwhile, Cox made his long-awaited comeback in Spider-Man No Way Home, leading many to believe that a greater part is on the way.

Daredevil season 4 has yet to be confirmed, but the chances of it happening are increasing as the recent introduction of the main cast in the recent MCU projects. Bringing Daredevil back as a Disney Plus original would certainly generate hype among fans. D’Onofrio and Cox’s return strongly suggests there’s already a masterplan in place.

Daredevil Season 4: Release Date

It’s difficult to anticipate a release date because Disney and Marvel Studios haven’t verified whether the reported Daredevil project would be a film or a TV series, so don’t expect anything before 2023.

Daredevil Season 4: Plot

After being presumed dead, Matt Murdock wakes up in a monastery surrounded by nuns in the Defenders spin-off miniseries. The show picks off just where the miniseries left off.

Matt’s emotional growth and journey may be witnessed over the seasons. Season one depicts a hero’s weight and obligation in assuming the character of Daredevil. When the Daredevil symbol is used to bring down Fisk or Kingpin, these restrictions are applied.

Daredevil Season 4 Plot

Season 2 confronts him with the moral problem of how easy it is to move from hero to vigilante, and the Punisher’s presence in his life doesn’t help matters. Matt’s faith in God remains a guiding light even in the darkest of situations.

Finally, in the last season, Matt finds forgiveness in his aim and the people he can trust. Even if you don’t agree with the show’s moral ambiguity, the fight sequences are worth seeing.

In the prison, both Frank Castle and Matt Murdock had terrific bouts. Despite the fact that I am a major fan of action and martial arts movies, I still think these two fight scenes are among the best I’ve ever seen.
