Dead to Me Season 3: If you’re anything like us, following the season two finale of Dead to Me, you’ll need a bottle of gin and a nap — and then another year or so to recuperate.
When the Netflix black comedy starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini debuted in 2019, it became a fan favorite. Season two heightened the suspense in 2020, and now we must wait to see what happened to the leading girls.
To be sure, there’s some good news and some bad news. Dead to Me Season 3 has been approved, but it will be the final batch of episodes in the series.
Dead to Me Season 3 Plot
Jen and Judy seem to attract disaster wherever they go, or is it the other way around?
The show’s writer and producer is Liz Feldman, well-known for producing hit shows like 2 Broke Girls, with Kat Dennings, one of the show’s co-stars, transitioning from waitress aprons to lab coats after moving on to portray Darcy Lewis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After Seasons 1 and 2, each centered on one character’s secret—the first being that Judy was complicit in the hit-and-run that killed Jen’s husband, and the second being that Jen didn’t kill Steve in self-defense—Dead to Me Season 3 will focus on someone else’s secret. Showrunner Liz Feldman told Refinery29 that she knew where Dead to Me Season 3 would go based on how Season 2 ended.
Toward the end of season two, the couple was involved in a road traffic collision when Ben, who was three sheets to the wind, slammed into them, damaging Charlie’s new car.
Judy, on the other hand, appeared to be in better form than Jen, who was sitting on the side of Ben’s automobile.
After Ben drove away quickly, Judy didn’t notice him behind the wheel, which opened up a new can of worms.
Dead to me Season 3 is likely to follow the same pattern as season one, picking up right where we left off, with Jen and Judy entangled and Ben urgently attempting to abandon his car and go.
There’s also Steve’s body, which hasn’t been buried in a long time since we last saw it being dug up by a dog in the woods.
Charlie, Jen’s son, also found his mother’s letter to Judy, in which she explained why she had turned herself into the cops.
