Dexter New Blood Season 2: With the conclusion of season one, Dexter: New Blood appears to have taken the ancient adage “when one door shuts, another opens” to heart.
After ten years of believing that he had gotten away with murder, the serial killer with a conscience returned to our screens. Even living in the beautiful hamlet of Iron Lake wasn’t enough to keep the Dark Passenger from haunting him.
The sitcom debuted on Showtime in November 2021 and quickly became the network’s most popular show, with accolades for its storytelling and character performances.
Dexter New Blood Season 2 Expected Plot
The tale of Dexter Morgan in the years after he faked his death and fled into hiding is told in Dexter New: Blood, a relaunch of Showtime’s hit serial killer drama.
The show follows him as he lives an everyday life under the alias Jim Lindsay in the imaginary little town of Iron Lake, New York, until his son, Harrison, shows up and throws him off track.
Clyde Phillips, the showrunner, has stated that he would be open to a second season; all that remains is for Showtime in the United States to give them the green light.
In an interview, he clarified that this would mean that Harrison would continue to play the lead role.
Suppose you’ve seen Dexter: New Blood’s epic climax. In that case, you’re undoubtedly thinking the answer to whether there’ll be a season 2 is a resounding “no,” considering that Dexter finally gets the ending he deserves and is fatally shot by his son, Harrison.
It’s unclear how Harrison’s tale would play out in a second season, but it’ll almost certainly continue the tragedy that occurred in the first.
Let’s get one thing out of the way right away, Dexter, the character, will not be returning. He will not be returning because Dexter died in the previous season.
However, Harrison drives away at the finale, free to go wherever he wants, much like Jesse in the Breaking Bad finale. With this one, you could let your imagination run wild.
Will Harrison try to start anew with a clean slate? Is Harrison’s murdering his father a complete 180-degree shift, and we’ll see even more evil from him in the future?
Dexter New Blood Season 2 Expected Cast
While it appears that Michael C. Hall will not reprise his role as Dexter following his death, we can expect other characters from the previous season to return if a second season is ordered.
Even though Alano Miller’s character Sergeant Logan died in season one, we expect Jack Alcott to reprise his role as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan. We can also expect Julia Jones as Police Chief Angela Bishop and Johnny Sequoyah as Audrey Bishop.
Meanwhile, any second season would almost certainly have to feature original cast member Jennifer Carpenter, who played a phantom version of Dexter’s late sister Debra during the show’s previous run.

Dexter New Blood Season 2 Release Date
Showtime has not announced whether or not there will be a second season yet.
It’s too early to make any educated guesses about this, mainly because the series is still likely to be over.
However, if the second season of Dexter: New Blood is approved, it will most certainly be at least a year — if not more – away.
Maybe it’ll show up again in eight years, as it did the first time.
