Spoilers for Episode 9 of Season 1 of the Netflix K-drama The Interest of Love follow. Two coworkers obviously in love with each other but cannot express their feelings for one another have developed into an intriguing love story.
At this time, both Ahn Su-Yeong & Ha Sang-su may be argued to be causing irreparable harm to their respective lovers. It’s essential to tell the truth, as that’s the story’s lesson. So, let’s review Episode 9.

In the opening moments of Episode 9 of Season 1, Sang-Su visits Mi-gyeong at her house. Now that they’re a couple, they can enjoy the typical couple activities like reading in bed & asking about the other person’s day. Sang-Su appears uninterested, though.
The ninth episode quickly transitions to a coworker’s wedding at a bank. The groom, however, has disappeared, prompting Sang-Su & Su-Yeong to search for him.
When Sang-su comes upon the groom smoking on the roof, he learns that the groom is upset because his ex-girlfriend has expressed happiness for his future. He hasn’t moved on yet. The groom & bride will tie the knot nonetheless.
The photographer then instructs the newlyweds, Sang-Su & Su-Yeong, to stand next to each other for the wedding portrait. Su-Yeong & Sang-su cannot take their gaze off each other throughout the wedding party.
In the ninth episode, the wedding night is no longer the focus, as Jong-Hyeon is angry that Su-Yeong has gotten rid of her piano & plants, telling her that he feels “little & sad” living in her house. He assumes that his presence has caused her to declutter her home.
Simply asking if he regrets moving in with her, Su-silence Yeong speaks volumes. When Su-Yeong sees that her efforts to help them become successful couples are being ignored, she becomes frustrated.
Mi-gyeong eats dinner with Su-Yeong to ask about Sang-su & whether or not he flirts with anyone at the bank to confirm her suspicions. When asked about Sang-love sun’s life, Su-Yeong says she doesn’t know anything about it. It appears that she is succeeding in convincing herself.
After that, Jong-Hyeon tells Su-Yeong he’s sorry for being a “useless” person & that he plans to move in with her. Jong-waning hyeong’s masculinity makes him less desirable & valuable now. Despite this, they continue to kiss one another passionately.
The fact that Mi-gyeong dated Gyeong-pil in the past is something Sang-su finds out about while at work. As her first true love, she had high hopes for him. Mi-gyeong invites Sang-su to see her friends so he doesn’t have time to dwell on the matter.
Finally, we get to the part of Episode 8 that was left ambiguous. While alone in a hotel room, Su-yeong calls her pal Jong-hyeon to tell him she will be over at her place. Sang-Su is shown chatting with Mi-pals gyeong as she opens the door to her hotel room.
Sang-su receives a fresh new car from Mi-gyeong as a surprise gift after meeting her pals. She had gotten him a new outfit and car within a day. Sang-su feels uneasy about the lavish presents. Despite Mi-best gyeong’s efforts, he seems to view her gift-giving as an attempt to purchase his affection.
Sang-su runs across Su-Yeong on his way home & both men are taken aback by their chance encounter. The same awkwardness from the previous episodes persists here. There were many unsaid words.
After that, Mi-gyeong inquires Sang-su about whether she should meet his mom. In the meantime, Su-Yeong decides to talk sternly with Jong-Hyeon, asking him about the bruises on his face.
He initially refuses to discuss them but eventually admits that he got into a fight with a friend while he was away for a few days. He then acknowledged that he did poorly on the test once again. This is a person who has no success and no self-esteem.
The situation has escalated to the point where Su-Yeong is attempting to rescue him, and Jong-Hyeon is becoming increasingly irritated. In a flashback, Jong-Hyeon gets into it with a guy who insults his fiancée by saying that Jong-Hyeon “gives her everything.”
The Interest Of Love Season 1 Episode 9 Review
I can already see the world crumbling under the indecision of these two people. If you’re unsure of how you feel about a person, it’s best not to live with them. The situation degenerates into sadness for everyone involved.
They should spend some time apart to figure out who they care about & what they desire. But on the other hand, isn’t that too simple? They’re making poor choices that only make their lives more difficult because of prior traumas & the challenges they’re facing now.
Regardless, I appreciated this episode very much since it helped me to comprehend the plight of the average person & how dire economic circumstances set the stage for further misery. Sweet Jong-Hyeon keeps having poor luck & his mental health declines as a result.
Meanwhile, Su-love yeong’s issues, Jong-setbacks, and Hyeon’s & stresses drive her to keep fighting, despite its obvious toll on her. This relationship between Sang-Su & Mi-gyeong is becoming more problematic than Mi-gyeong expected. Despite her best efforts, Sang-Su hasn’t shown any interest in Mi-gyeong.
The money isn’t making a difference &; intriguingly, her solution to this problem is to buy him expensive gifts. Meanwhile, Sang-su is trying his hardest to be in a relationship with Mi-gyeong but isn’t quite a good fit for her way of life.
Despite his best efforts, he does not come from a similar socioeconomic background to Mi-gyeong. These bonds take a great deal of time to develop because they are so intricate & tangled. I hope they listen to their hearts & make the correct choice.
