What Are the Chances of Revival of the Underground Series?

Underground Season

Despite recent reports, “Underground” was canceled. Followers of the show have expressed an interest in renewing the series so this story will be updated as soon as more information is made available.
While speaking to ABC Radio on September 14th, Executive Producer and Creator Misha Green said-

Though the show has been canceled at WGN, this is not the end.

One of the creators for Underground has confirmed that they are looking into streaming platforms in order to air season 3. The third season of Underground will release more behind-the-scenes footage.

However, the network claims they are not ready to film season 3 due to production costs.

Following Oprah’s comments, the reporters at the L.A. event stated

It costs twice as much to make as Queen Sugar, and John Legend – the show’s executive producer – asked me personally about it. We have already been talking about ways to work around that, though. It’s like $5 million an episode, so we can’t afford it. It isn’t cheap, I believe because it is a period piece.

We are not entirely sure why the OWN TV channel is no longer going to air the show. The creators have been working hard to get some other network, or online streaming service, interested in airing season 3. It seems like a lot of fans have turned up at these events as well.

I ll never stop dreaming of this show to get a reboot, WAPesha Mitchell (@FramedRed) February 17, 2021

Although it was canceled, I continue to dream of the show rebooting.
