Hacks is an American television series created by Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky. The series explores the genres of comedy and drama. It released its first episode in 2022 and has aired a total of 18 episodes as of now.

Hacks season one aired on May 13, 2021, on HBO Max to great success. Since the first season was a hit, the show was renewed for a second and third season in June 2021 and 2022, respectively. Season two premiered on May 12, 2022.

The show is mainly about the interactions between a successful stand-up comedian and an inexperienced comedy writer. The main stars are Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder, and Carl Clemons-Hopkins.

The Hacks Season 3 plot will feature Deborah (played by Jean Smart) needing Ava’s (played by Hannah Einbinder) professional assistance after an event in her career.

Ava’s expected success in Los Angeles is like a bathtub full of water – she will be completely submerged. Additionally, it is anticipated that Jimmy (played by Paul W. Downs) and Kayla (played by Megan Stalter), two other important characters in the show, will have some side plot arising from their new management business. Lastly, Marcus’ (played by Carl Clemons) romantic storyline will also progress in some way or another throughout the season.

Season three will resume from where season two ended, with Deborah having succeeded in selling a bunch of DVDs on QVC and finally finding a home for its streaming service and rights. Seeing all the opportunities available to Ava, Deborah decided to terminate her employment, allowing her to find her own place and voice within the industry.

What To Expect From Hacks Season 3?

The third season of Hacks will pick up where the previous season left off. In season two, viewers witnessed a budding dark mentorship between Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance (played by Jean Smart) and her young writer Ava (played by Hannah Einbinder).

The season two finale episode, “The One, the Only,” was released on June 2, 2022, and included various events. The primary events viewers witnessed were Deborah and Marty competing against each other at a Sotheby’s auction and Ava accepting Taylor’s offer of a week-long job in Los Angeles.

Furthermore, Deborah terminated Ava’s employment so that she could pursue her own ambitions and look for what she had desired her whole life. In the meantime, Ava also received a job proposal from Jimmy. The episode concluded with the screen on QVC and Deborah passing away while smiling.

Season three of Hacks is likely to continue the narrative of the series characters and numerous developing plots based on its premise. The season will begin from the conclusion of season two’s finale episode, which means it’ll have to pick up any outstanding gaps or cliffhangers.
