Haikyuu!! It is a prominent sports anime that has been on the air since 2014 and is recognized for its gorgeously illustrated and drawn-out volleyball matches, shonen-style tales, and deep characterizations of a broadcast of interesting characters.

Shy Hinata, a small but feisty middle schooler, becomes obsessed with volleyball after watching Karasuno High play on TV, only to realize that no one else at his school is. He persuaded other friends to join him on a team so that they might compete at the end of his middle school career. Despite Hinata’s remarkable vertical leap, they are defeated by Tobio Kageyama and his “King of the Court” group.

Hinata gets accepted into Karasuno High School. When he joins the volleyball team, he discovers that his new opponent, Kageyama, is also a teammate. The school’s volleyball team is rebuilding. These two newcomers have a dangerous rapid strike combo that could help their volleyball team recover the spotlight, despite their initial hatred for one another.

Throughout the show’s four seasons, school rivalries arise, new players are recruited, training camps are toured, and the teams compete in events that put their mettle and interpersonal connections to the test — and generate the kind of passion that only applies to exhilarating athletic situations can produce.

Haikyuu Season 5 Plot

Haikyuu!! is based on Haruichi Furudate’s manga series, which concluded in 2020 with Chapter 402 and Volume 45. (The English translation lags by a few volumes). The fourth season came to a triumphant and dramatic climax with Chapter 292, leaving plenty more stories to be explored.

In Haikyuu Season 5, the squad will fight in the Nekoma vs. Karasuno match in the rubbish dump, and there will be plenty more bouts in the future, including some high-stakes tournaments, according to the manga. In other words, expect a lot of beautifully rendered volleyball. Hinata will also get to meet “the Little Giant,” the character that started it all for him.

If the anime series follows the manga to the end in Season 6 and potentially even Season 7, fans may be in for a big surprise—the manga shifts in time and place and even focuses on a related but unrelated sport.
