Additional tests revealed that its performance was equivalent to that of many gasoline-powered sports cars. The Roadster could accelerate from 0 to 60 miles (96 km) per hour in less than four seconds and reach a high speed of 125 miles (200 km) per hour.

Carbon fiber was used to make the lightweight automobile body. The Roadster had no tailpipe emissions because it did not have an internal-combustion engine.
