Insidious 5: When will Insidious 5 hit theaters? With James Wan, the king of creepiness, at the helm, the hugely popular horror film franchise began in 2010. The original film’s star, Patrick Wilson, is set to make his directorial debut with a fifth feature in the works.
The premise of the film
Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, and Barbara Hershey star in Insidious, a supernatural horror film directed by James Wan and written by Leigh Whannell.
It was released in the US in 2010. It is the first film in the Insidious franchise and the third in the series chronologically. The story follows a couple whose son enters a vegetative state and becomes a vehicle for various nefarious astral beings.

The plot
We can dig in because we already know a lot about what the next Insidious film will be about. Insidious 5 will return to the Lambert family’s plot, which was established in the first two films, to please fans.
While the premise of Insidious 5 is still unknown, we do know that it will take place ten years after the events of the first film. At the end of the previous part, Josh (Wilson) and his son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) were brainwashed to help them forget about The Further and the demons they encountered.
Aside from the usual human drama aspects, an Insidious film would be incomplete without returning to the Afterlife. We wouldn’t be surprised if the Lipstick-Face Demon or the Bride in Black made a cameo in the spirit realm.
Filmmaker and cast details
There haven’t been many casting announcements for Insidious 5, but we know that Patrick Wilson will feature in and direct the picture as Josh Lambert.
Ty Simpkins will reprise his role as Dalton Lambert, but ten years older and with the baggage of college experience, according to the film’s IMDb website.
As Wilson has mentioned, Insidious 5 will strongly emphasize the father-son relationship between his character and Simpkins.
In the first film, Lin Shaye will reprise her role as Elise in Insidious 5. The actress has appeared in all of the Insidious films to date, and she will most likely reprise her role as a ghost in The Further.
We don’t have any firm castings to offer aside from that. Wilson did mention the impact of the events on Josh Lambert’s marriage, but he did not specifically mention his wife.
Is this an indication that Rose Byrne will make a comeback, or is the Lambert marriage doomed?

Insidious 5 Release Date
In October 2020, the fifth installment of the Insidious franchise was announced, with a 2022 release date already set. Unfortunately, that was all the information Jason Blum, the film’s producer could provide at the time.
Even though it’s been almost a year, we still don’t know when Insidious 5 will be released. We can’t even look back at the previous four Insidious films for clues since they were released in April, September, June, and January.
We know that filming for the film is set to begin in the spring of this year, so it might start shooting. October is the best bet for capitalizing on the Halloween season if they can pull it off.
Insidious 5 Trailer
A trailer for Insidious 5 has yet to be released. There was no evidence that the picture had even started filming, let alone been completed, in writing. We won’t see a trailer until after the filming is finished.
There must be some kind of announcement on the road, with a release date of 2022 still in the works and filming set to begin soon.
