Julie and the Phantoms is a Netflix Original series that first premiered back in 2020 composed of nine episodes.
When the show first dropped onto Netflix, it did not gain much attention, however, it did on Youtube where some of the videos range from 13 Million to as high as 44 Million. Throughout 2021, there were little to no news and update about the show, apart from a few hints that are happening behind the sense.
What is Julie and the Phantoms about?
Julie and the Phantoms is a children’s novel by author Stephen King. It tells the story of a young girl, Julie, who is haunted by a group of ghosts known as the Phantoms. Julie must use her intelligence and courage to outsmart the Phantoms and free her town from their curse.
The series is based on the Brazilian series entitled “Julie e os Fantasmas.” The Netflix series stars Madison Reyes as Julie Molina who is a high school student with a passion for singing and creating music. However, after suffering the loss of her mother, she hits a roadblock. While trying to overcome whatever’s holding her back, Julie accidentally summons the ghosts of an old band from 1995. Throughout the first season, the characters (especially the ghosts), discover that music has the power to make them feel more real and allow the others to see and hear them.
If you have already seen the show, then to no surprise, the series is produced by none other than Kenny Ortega, who is known to be the mind behind Disney Channel hit franchises like “High School Musical” and “Descendants.”

But luckily, there have been multiple reports being released that there is a possibility of Julie and the Phantoms. But without an official confirmation from Netflix, it’s difficult to assume what’s the real deal.

Madison Reyes will be back as Julie – she is the titular character, after all.
Then there’s guitar player Luke (Charlie Gillespie), Reggie (Jeremy Shada) on bass, and drummer Alex (Owen Patrick Joyner), who we’d expect to return for a second season album.
And don’t forget Booboo Stewart as Willie, Jadah Marie as Flynn, Savannah May as Carrie, and the chilling Cheyenne Jackson as Caleb.
Shada is as uncertain as the fans about the show coming back, however.
“I can’t say officially. I do not know. I have not been told. But I’m hoping. We’re all ready to go back. We’re all waiting for the call. If they pick it up and greenlight it, we’re there. I love that cast and crew so much. Kenny Ortega is an absolute legend, and he’s the sweetest man in the world. I love Kenny. It’s such a blast to work with those people. Getting to mix music with acting on one project at that level is rare. It’s just quality. It’s such an uplifting show, and I really enjoy the entire cast and crew so much.
“Knock on wood. Hopefully, we’ll be able to film again. Maybe next year. If it happens, I feel like it would have to be soon because it’s been a minute since the first season came out. You want to capitalise off of that momentum. Waiting two or three years between seasons is the worst. So long as the fans keep harassing Netflix, hopefully, they’ll say yes eventually.”
The second season of Julie and the Phantoms will likely have the main cast of season one. This only means that Reyes will be back as Julie, Charlie Gillespie as Luke, Owen Patrick Joyner as Alex, and Jeremy Shada as Reggie.
Further, Jadah Marie should also be cast as Flynn, Savannah May as Carrie, J, and Sacha Carlson as Nick. Alongside them, there might be new members joining to add more spice and twists to the storyline.
