Kung Fu Season 2 is definitely back on CW this 2022!

The series was first set to be released this February but got postponed. Worry not, it is kicking its way to CW audiences by March!

What is Kung Fu Season 2?

This American martial arts show debuted last year which is an adaptation of the popular 1970s series of the same name.

It is produced by Warner Bros. Television along with a handful of producers, including Christina M. Kim, Ed Speilman  Greg Berlanti, and others.

What is the story of Kung Fu?

The story of Kung Fu follows a Harvard dropout, Nicky Shen who is a Chinese American woman that leaves her family in San Francisco behind to learn martial arts at an isolated monastery in China.

Late on, Shen returns to America three years later after honing her fighting and Shaolin skills. She then fights to protect her family, her San Francisco community, and avenge her martial arts mentor, who was murdered by an assassin.

The show is a gender-bent version of the original tale, which is centered around a man named Kwai Chang Caine and introduces advocacies and themes of feminism, community, Asian American culture.

The first season ended with the main character defeating Zhilan after deciding to release Biange back to the earth, rather than destroy it or wield the ancient Sword of Liang Daiyu. We can maybe assume what’s set to happen next.

When is Kung Fu Season 2 Release Date?

Fans will have to wait one more month before the action-packed series as it will premiere in March.

Worry not, because days will pass by and it will soon be ready to binge as it airs on March 9, 2022, at 9 P.M. on The CW.

Is there a Kung Fu Season 2 Trailer?

A trailer came out last month, and everyone was stoked to see what to expect on the upcoming season.

In the trailer, Nicky Shen is seen back with a new foe to face, her distant cousin, Mia. If you are an avid fan or viewer of the show, you would know that the hero of this show has some complicated family relationships.

Further, things seem like the show will get pretty emotional.  Because of family reasons, Nicky doesn’t wish to fight her cousin. But we’ll have to wait and see what’s to come.

Olivia Liang had something to say about the show’s future too, “It definitely seems like Biange has followed Nicky to San Francisco and because of that, the mythology and the magic have also entered into San Francisco where her family lives. I think that we can expect to see the Shens, being a part of this bloodline, become much more involved in what Nicky’s doing – even more so than they already were.”

We are all hoping and still assuming that the leading cast members will return for the new episodes of Kung Fu Season 2.

Robert Berens said in an interview,  “I think it’s going to be an exciting reboot with the same characters and the same concept. As for the mythology of the warriors and guardians, we are going to see that play out with the character of Nicky’s cousin who she didn’t know about – who we teased at the end of the finale,” while discussing the introduction of the surprise new characters at the end of season 2.
