Loki Season 2: Marvel fans may not have to wait as long as they thought for Loki Season 2 to arrive. In the summer of 2021, the series concluded its first season by announcing that it would be renewed for a second season, making it Marvel’s first Disney+ show to be renewed for a second season.
However, Marvel fans have heard absolutely nothing about Loki Season 2 in the months since it was announced.
Loki Season 2 Plot
Season one ended with a cataclysmic catastrophe that establishes multiverses and, as a result, immediately establishes Doctor Strange’s pandemonium in the Multiverse of Madness, as well as Wanda’s involvement in the film. Remember that the Scarlet Witch is a Nexus Being, which means she might be useful in the forthcoming multiversal conflict.
The multiverse and its impact were later depicted in Spider-Man: No Way Home, released in December 2021, with heroes and villains, as well as various variations of characters, being drawn through to the center realm by Doctor Strange when a spell went awry. As a result, they were all on the same timeline simultaneously.
Doctor Strange is set to be released on May 6, 2022. Therefore we expect that whatever happens will impact Loki’s second season. Meanwhile, Loki must deal with Sylvie’s betrayal and the consequences of her actions.
When Kang (He Who Remains) is no longer alive, an unlimited number of his varieties will rise to take control of the multiverse. With the arrival of Kang’s statue in “our” Time Variance Authority, we’ve already seen that happen.
Loki Season 2 Cast
They’re keeping details about Loki season 2 under wraps in true Marvel fashion. As a result, no official news on who might be joining the upcoming time-traveling escapades has been released.
Tom Hiddleston, of course, is on board since what is Loki without, well, Loki?
Ravonna Renslayer will also return. However, Gugu Mbatha-Raw acknowledged to Digital Spy in December 2021 that she had no idea what was ahead for her character.
We may also expect the following cast members to return in Loki season two, based on how season one ended:
- Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15
- Owen Wilson as Mobius M Mobius
- Tara Strong as the voice of Miss Minutes
- Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie
Don’t be shocked if Jack Veal returns as Kid Loki at some time, whether in the second season of Loki or as part of a Young Avengers project. Marvel’s legacy team is only a matter of time with so many people lined up, and we’re hopeful Kid Loki will be a part of it, just like in the comics.
We’re not the only ones wishing for a return of Loki. Richard E Grant had a significant effect on fans with a brief but already famous rendition of Classic Loki, replete with his Golden Age comic book attire.
Even though this variation gave his life to aid Sylvie and Loki in their escape from The Void, Grant told Entertainment Tonight that his character could return in the future.
Loki Season 2 Release Date
While season two is undoubtedly in the works, no official release date for Loki has been set as of March 2022.
According to industry publication Production Weekly, the second season was supposed to begin production in January 2022. Still, there hasn’t been any confirmation of this on social media or Marvel itself.
Season two is already “underway” and “being developed as we speak,” according to Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, who told Collider in August 2021 – but that could mean anything from “the story is now being written” to “Tom Hiddleston is finishing up his parts already.”
As a result, it’s unclear when we might expect the series to return to our televisions. To put things in perspective, the first season premiered in June 2021, and if you take in things like extensive post-production special effects, on top of the initial filming schedule and reshoots, the program won’t premiere until at least the end of 2022.
