Louie Anderson Shows And Roles:

Then, he starred in a small role in Coming to America. In the mid-1990’s Life with Louie began. He voiced Louie and also created the show which won him two Emmy awards for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program over the comedy giants Robin Williams and Lily Tomlin.

In 2016, Anderson debuted his role in the FX dark comedy Baskets where he played matriarch Christine Baskets. Upon its release, it garnered much critical acclaim and earned him multiple Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, including one win.

In 2016, Anderson starred in the FX dark comedy Baskets alongside showrunner Jonathan Krisel. The series is called Baskets because Anderson plays matriarch Christine Baskets and the series revolves around her and her family. In an interview about the series, he talked about how a lot of the stories and events on the show were based on his own life experiences and what he imagined would happen if his mother was still alive to see and experience them with him. He was very pleased with how it all turned out which is why – when working in front of or behind the camera – he is always so appreciative of those who took part in making it possible like Zach Galifianakis who played Chip Baskets, Louie Anderson’s friend in real life who helped him through some hard times.

“It is not ok to get used to the killings,” he told NPR in 2018. “I’m always on the verge of tears because we live a violent culture and every day you should just have good cry and maybe even laugh with each other at how stupid this all is.”

“We never can really learn how to deal with loss,” he said in NPR’s “The Guilty Pleasure Of Movie Monster Pics” article in 2018. “I’m always on the verge of tears because I think everyday, you know, you should bring yourself to tears. Everyday you should be that passionate, and every day you should have a good laugh as well.”

In his interview with NPR, Wilson told the interviewer that everyday we should be able to bring ourselves closer to tears. He also said that people should have a good laugh every single day.
