On their way to the airport, Amy meets Rebecca, her mother. She invites Amy to join her, and the two of them depart. Cecelia is concerned about Amy’s absence and goes looking for her. Meanwhile, Joy sees tens of thousands of buffalo stampede across the fields and several Native Americans pursuing and killing them. Autumn confronts Royal in town, and she and Billy attempt to kill him while driving, but they only wound him when his bulletproof vest saves him from being hit point-blank.
While digging in the dirt, Luke wishes to unearth something that will make him rich. To his dismay, oil spurts from the ground instead of gold; however, this oil quickly metamorphoses into stampeding buffalo. The bison trample Luke mercilessly as they stampede onwards.
Billy’s truck crashes, and he is killed after Royal deliberately makes the crash happen. Autumn is thrown from the truck, and Royal plans to kill her too. However, a buffalo stampede disrupts his plan, and Royal must find safety while Autumn is trampled instead.
After the buffalo have gone, Royal checks on Amy, who has a scar on her head where a glass shard hit her. He brings her home and informs Cecelia that all he wants is to be reunited with his family. Cecelia tells them their entire family has perished, listing each household member. When she says Amy is no longer alive, Royal corrects her and invites her to come along.
After the season finale of Outer Range, the writers and producers may add a few new characters to keep viewers engaged. The show has immense potential, as seen in Season 1, so it will be interesting to see how the plot develops further when the series is renewed for another season.
