She meets, loves, and marries Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a handsome Highland warrior from Gabaldon’s fictitious Clan Fraser of Lovat, and joins the Jacobite revolt.
The 16-episode first season (released in two parts) of the television series is based on the first novel in the series, Outlander (known as Cross Stitch in the United Kingdom). Outlander Season 7 Plot
An Echo in the Bone, Diana Gabaldon’s seventh novel, will be released later this year and serve as the basis for Outlander Season 7. It’s anyone’s guess whether A Breath of Snow and Ashes, Gabaldon’s sixth book, will be adapted in Outlander Season 7.
A Breath of Snow and Ashes, Gabaldon’s sixth book, inspired a section of Season 5’s plot. As a result, Season 6 of Outlander could be inspired by Diana Gabaldon’s seventh novel.
Fans of Echo in the Bone can expect the following storylines if Outlander Season 7 follows the narrative of the seventh novel, according to dianagabaldon.com:

Brianna, her husband, Roger MacKenzie, and their two children lived in Lallybroch in the 1970s, regaining their footing after returning from the past—unaware that the past was about to burst out at them again.
Lord John Grey and his stepson William (Jamie’s unacknowledged illegitimate son) are involved on the British side of the Revolution, with William serving in the army and Lord John working in intelligence.
“In his tough love life, Jamie’s nephew, young Ian, is about to take a hard left turn.”
