PEN15 Season 2 is coming back! Watch the new teaser trailer for season 2 of PEN15, a show about two girls navigating middle school in 2018. The first half of the season will be available on September 18th and the second half will be released in January 2019. With a cast that includes Maya Erskine, Anna Konkle, and Sam Richardson from Veep, this show has been described as “a hilarious look at what it’s like to grow up female in America today.” It’s also been praised by critics for its realistic portrayal of what it means to be a young woman today.

The second season of ‘PEN15’ will be split into two parts, and a new teaser trailer has been released.
This fall, one of Hulu’s finest original series will return, followed by another run the next year.
Later this year, the hilarious series which features 30-something actresses Anna Konkle and Maya Erskine playing 13-year-old versions of themselves in the junior high school opposite actual 13-year-olds is coming back for its second season. Season 2 will be divided into two parts, with the first half of the 14-episode season premiering in September and the latter half following a year later.
The second season of PEN15 is coming soon. This trailer gives us a first look at what to expect from the show in the future.
We’ve known about season 2 since last May when Hulu first renewed the series. However, we now know when the program will resume-the the second season premiere on Hulu on September 18, 2020, but the latter half of the season is being delayed until a to-be-determined date in 2021. I’m disappointed that I’ll have to wait until 2021 to see the entire season, but despite the fact that it’s split release dates, season 2 will contain four more total episodes than season 1’s 10-episode run. Finally, I’m glad to get more of a show that I enjoy overall.
I was obsessed with this program for the entirety of 2019. And with its casting gimmick – featuring Konkle and Erskine as younger versions of themselves – there were plenty of hilarious moments, and the series does a fantastic job capturing the year 2000 era it is set in, from clothes to music to everything else.

While comedy is at the forefront, I was surprised to find myself invested in the dramatic aspects of the series as well, especially since the connection between the two best pals was put to the test and the show tapped into all-too-real feelings of what it’s like to navigate junior high school’s baffling social hierarchies. The season 1 episode ‘Anna Ishii-Peters,’ in which Anna’s friendship with Maya begins to come apart as she is given special attention by Maya’s parents, was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series.
The comedy pulled me in, but before the finale, I was genuinely invested in the series’ characters. I’m dying to return to the show, and I’m eager to discover what the creators have planned for season 2. In Season 2, Anna and Maya face school plays, pool parties, and (yikes) sleepovers as they try to fit in and just be cool.
The company’s name is a combination of the words “coach” and “department,” which was co-created by Konkle, Erskine, and Sam Zvibleman. It’s made by Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer of The Lonely Island.
