The original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was aired on NBC from 1990 to 1996 which was starred the famous Will Smith as the main character.
Since we’re now officially in the era of making reboots, producers decided to create a remake of the old one, only that the new one is entitled “Bel-Air” and is repurposed into a more dramatic tale to which the watchers can relate.
Here are the details you need to know about the upcoming series.
Bel-Air Season 1: Its Official Trailer
Fortunately, there is! Last January 10, the official trailer was released by Peacock that gave the viewer’s a peek of what to expect from the series.

The official synopsis calls the series a “dramatic analogue” of the 90’s sitcom and this can already be seen crystal clear in the released trailer. As expected, the new series conceptualizes the original sitcom but will deeply explore the origin story of the main character and why he had to move from Philadelphia to Bel-Air.
Who is part of the Cast?
The main character Will is starred by Jabari Banks. Banks is a newbie in the scene, who was born and raised in West Philadelphia. It was his father who encouraged him to audition for the role.
Bel-Air Season 1 will include significant casts like Adrian Holmes acting as Uncle Phil together with Cassandra Freeman as Aunt Viv. The stars are also joined by Olly Sholotan as Carlton and Akkira Akbar who took the part of Ashley.
Jimmy Akingbola is also part of the cast as Geoffrey together with Jordan L. Jones as Jazz. Lastly, Lisa (Will’s love interest) is played by Simon Joy Jones.
Excitingly, more cast members were announced by Peacock on January 20 to be joining the most-awaited series. Acting as the mother of Will is April Parker Jones and SteVonté Hart to play the role of Will’s best friend. Joe Halt takes on the part of Fred Wilkes who is a local police chief and also Lisa’s father in the series.
Who will Produce?
The legend and famous actor Will Smith who also starred as the original main character of the 90’s sitcom will be producing the upcoming Bel-Air Season 1. He had teamed up with Universal Television together with other executive producers namely Terence Carter, James Lassiter, Quincy Jones, Spellman, and Borowitz.
