Together with Alek Keshishian, Selena Gomez is releasing her first documentary.
Fans have been clamoring for a Selena Gomez documentary ever since she first gained notoriety on the Disney Channel. More than 210 million singles of Selena’s have been sold over the past 20 years, and she has appeared in films as diverse as Barney and Friends and Only Murders in the Building. Moreover, she has emerged as a leading voice in the fight for better mental health.
The 30-year-old singer and actress is now prepared to give her fans an inside look at her life through her new documentary, Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me. By posting the caption “Wanna hear a part to my story…My Mind & Me coming soon to @AppleTvPlus,” Selena announced the title on Instagram.
That being said, here is all the information you’ll need to know about the upcoming film, including when it will be released, who directed it, and what the plot will entail.
When Can We Expect to See Selena Gomez’s Documentary?
On November 4th, you can watch My Mind & Me on Apple TV+. Six years have gone into making this film, which features both self-filmed material and major events caught by a camera crew.
Selena Gomez’s My Mind & Me Plot
The Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me documentary is available on Apple TV+, with a description that reads in part: “After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom. But just as she reaches a new height, a twist of fate drags her down into the depths of despair. Her six-year metamorphosis into a new light is chronicled in this unfiltered and personal documentary.
Although her 2018 split from Justin Bieber falls within the six-year time frame of the documentary, it is unclear whether the doc will address the fallout of that split.
It’s also unclear if the 2017 kidney transplant that Gomez underwent will be discussed, or if her friend and donor Francia Rasa will make an appearance in the film. Gomez and Rasa appear to still be friends as of July 2022, when they collaborated on a TikTok, dispelling rumors to the contrary.
On World Mental Health Day, Gomez released the trailer for the documentary and asked fans to pre-save her new song “My Mind & Me.”
Produced by Lighthouse Management + Media and Interscope Films, the movie will debut on Apple TV+.
How has Selena responded to her documentary?
After weeks of rumors, the ‘Rare’ singer finally confirmed her documentary on September 8. On September 20, she dropped the trailer and wrote: “When we’re fighting, it can be difficult to take a deep breath… However, I wouldn’t trade my experiences for anything. Coming this November 4th.”
Earlier this month, Selena confirmed the documentary by posting a brief, silent teaser to Instagram for her massive 350 million followers. In the video, the title card for My Mind & Me was prominently displayed on a movie theatre screen.
She captioned the post: “Wanna hear a part to my story…My Mind & Me coming soon to @AppleTvPlus.”

Keshishian “directed the most successful documentary of its time,” as Apple puts it. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should consider watching the documentary Madonna: Truth or Dare.
