The Eminence in Shadow: Dreams do come true, especially when you’re isekai’d into another realm as a chuunibyou, as Cid does in The Eminence in Shadow, a light novel series turned into a TV anime by director Kazuya Nakanishi (head animation director on Darwin’s Game) at anime studio Nexus.
What is The Eminence in Shadow All About?
As previously stated, The Eminence in Shadow will be directed by Kazuya Nakanishi (chief animation director on Darwin’s Game) at anime studio Nexus, with screenplays written by Kanichi Kato (Black Clover series composer from episodes 153 to 170).
The light novel character designs are also being adapted for animation by MMakoto Iino (Imagine if a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies moved to a new town?)
The Eminence in Shadow light novel was written by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Tozai, and there are presently four volumes available in Japanese.

The plot of The Eminence in Shadow
The light novels and their manga adaptation were both licensed by Yen Press, and the story is described as follows:
Shadowbrokers are persons who go unnoticed, acting like ordinary people yet controlling everything from behind the scenes.
Cid aspires to be someone like that above all else, and nothing, not even mundane reality, will stand in his way! Every night, he trains in secret, preparing for his inevitable ascent to power—only to be thwarted by a routine (and tragic) traffic accident.
But when he awakens in another universe and finds himself at the helm of a real-life secret organization fighting evil in the shadows, he’ll finally be able to live out all of his insane ambitions!
The Eminence in Shadow is an isekai anime that adapts the plot from the same-named light book series. Cid Kagenou, a little child with an overactive imagination, is the novel’s protagonist.
He has no desire for fame or attention. However, he aspires to be a mastermind behind the scenes. Cid reincarnates as the son of a nobleman in a magical world after a horrible accident.
In his new life, Cid seeks members for his fictitious organization, Shadow Garden. He creates the organization to combat the evil Cult of Diabolos. He fabricates a narrative in which he is the leader of an ancient organization that has come to save the planet.
Also, prevent Diabolos from being resurrected by the cult. However, he is unaware that the fictitious sect is, in fact, real. And it’s only his Shadow Garden that can keep them at bay.
