What is Vinland Saga About?
Vinland Saga is an anime adaptation of the Manga of the same name, and the first season of the anime aired from July 8, 2019, to December 30, 2019. The Manga version is written and illustrated by Yukimura Makoto.

The anime is set in the Vikings era and tells the story of a boy named Thorfinn who lost his father during a ship hijack. A Viking named Askeladd killed his father, and for him to kill his father’s murderer, Thorfinn joins him on his voyage as a Viking.
Meanwhile, as the story moves on, the heat between the Danes and England is getting worse, and war, death, and killing have been common things during his Time. The Vikings have been committing these crimes and continue to do so, even if the victims have the worst experience.
Thorfinn continues to look for a way how to avenge his father.
Vinland Saga Season 2 Release Date
The Vinland Saga Season 2 is finally confirmed for renewal and is preparing for production already.
Although, they have not set the release date of Season 2 yet as they have to start with the anime production. Last February 11, it was leaked that Vinland Saga Season 2 will have a studio change, whereas Studio MAPPA will be the one producing it rather than WIT studio.
Still, regardless of the studio, the anime director confirmed that we would be getting another season for Vinland Saga.
In his tweet back in July 2021, “Time goes by really fast. This one year, our team had many problems to solve and we have made difficult decisions, but fortunately, the team composition is almost the same and we are motivated to concentrate on this season.”

Vinland Saga Season 2 Plot and Trailer
In February 2022, it was also leaked that Vinland Saga Season 2 will release its trailer already, to give us a hint on what plot and storyline to expect for Vinland Saga Season 2.
However, because of an unexpected situation, the director discussed that the ongoing work is had gone through an unstable situation before, but is already going smoothly. He again mentioned on his Twitter, “We have been hit by an unexpected situation. But now, we are concentrating on our work in a stable environment thanks to the support of many people.”
As for the plot of Vinland Saga Season 2, since there is no official announcement yet regarding it, we can assume that it will follow the manga series story.
As of February 2022, there are already 25 volumes published in Japan for the Vinland Saga manga series. The series has eight chapters and has not been released yet in manga format, which we expect to be out this 2022, which will be volume 26.
Vinland Saga Season 2 will possibly start with the manga volume 9 and end on volume 14. There is a lot more to explore, so if the anime adaptation goes well, we might not only see Season 2 on the screen but more.

Although we do not have the official cast list yet, we expect the characters to be the same from Season 1. We cannot be sure if the voice actors will be back to portray their respective roles.
