Lea Michele has responded to rumors that she doesn't know how to read and write.
The actress mocked online trolls in a video she posted on her TikTok page.
Michele also refuted the rumors in an interview with the New York Times.
"There's a rumor online that I can't read or write? It's sad. It really is," she said.
Michele's colleague Jameela Jamil also weighed in her support for the actress.
"Laughing at the idea of *anyone* not being able to read makes you ….an elitist, ableist bore. It's embarrassing for you, not them," she said.
Michele recently debuted as Fanny Brice in the Broadway revival of "Funny Girl."
The actress took a small break from the production after being diagnosed with Covid-19 symptoms.
Michele's understudy, Julie Benko, is filling in for the actress while she is away.
