Yes, we’re headed back to Hope Valley!
Hearties are very excited to see that the production of When Calls the Heart has been wrapped. Although season 8 of the series was longer than the rest of the other seasons, it still happened in a blink of an eye. And that’s why the show is renewed for another season!
If you are unfamiliar with the series, it follows the lives of folks in the small town of Hope Valley and more specifically, Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow) who is a teacher in the town.

When is the Official Release Date of When Calls the Heart Season 9?
Luckily, Hallmark isn’t making the Hearties wait. Right after the season 8 finale, Erin Krakow announced in an interview, “Who knew even an extra-long season would fly by so quickly, but don’t worry, When Calls the Heart will return next year for an all-new season.”
The premiere date has already been set on the Hallmark Channel. When Calls the Heart will launch on Sunday, March 6, and will consist of 12 episodes, according to the cable network. The production began on July 21, 2021, and wrapped on Nov. 9, 2021.
Although the Hallmark drama isn’t available on Netflix or Hulu, there are several places where you can watch past episodes such as Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, and Hallmark Movies Now.

Will the entire cast be returning?
Yes, almost all of your favorite characters will be back. The exception? Hope Valley’s sweetest duos Jesse (Aren Buchholz) and Clara (Eva Bourne) will be noticeably absent in season 9.

According to Erin, she has the desire to spend more time in Hope Valley. “There would be an awful lot to look forward to, so hopefully we have that opportunity,” she said. She also emphasized how she wants to see Little Jack’s personality blossom and spend more time with the students to explore the uncharted territory with her new beau.
What to Expect on When Calls the Heart
Like all series, Season 9 of When Calls the Heart would presumably pick up right where the finale left off. Hopefully, we finally get to see Elizabeth commit to a relationship. Moreover, we are excited to see Rosemary explore a new business venture and the Canfields to settle into Hope Valley.
In Hallmark’s official release, they already gave an idea on what to expect: “Hope Valley is in a state of growth, with the foundry’s progress and the evolution of key relationships. The Mayoral race has the town buzzing with a few members of the town running against one another. Elizabeth and Lucas focus on their relationship beyond courtship, and as she gets to know Lucas better, she learns about his past which gives Elizabeth pause about their future.”
