Chris Cuomo has been fired by CNN days after the network suspended him for helping his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, navigate the murky waters of sexual harassment allegations.

On Saturday, CNN tweeted that he had been fired and that it was “effective immediately.”

In a statement, the network said that “Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light regarding his involvement with his brother’s defense.” To conduct the review, we hired a reputable law firm, which we’ve since fired.

Cuomo called the decision to terminate him “disappointing” in a Twitter post in response to his dismissal.
