Chris Cuomo has been fired by CNN days after the network suspended him for helping his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, navigate the murky waters of sexual harassment allegations.
On Saturday, CNN tweeted that he had been fired and that it was “effective immediately.”
In a statement, the network said that “Chris Cuomo was suspended earlier this week pending further evaluation of new information that came to light regarding his involvement with his brother’s defense.” To conduct the review, we hired a reputable law firm, which we’ve since fired.
Cuomo called the decision to terminate him “disappointing” in a Twitter post in response to his dismissal.
A special group of people who did important work will be missed, he said. “I owe them all a lot.”

Chris Cuomo used his media “sources” and “other journalists,” according to dozens of transcripts, video interviews, and text messages released Monday by the New York Attorney General’s Office, to investigate the allegations of sexual harassment leveled against his brother, the former governor of New York.

Newly-released Attorney General’s Office documents prompted a CNN “indefinite” suspension of the anchor on Tuesday. On his Sirius XM radio show on Wednesday, Cuomo talked about his suspension and called the disciplinary action taken against him “embarrassing.”
