Too bad for the Prison Break fans, season 6 is not happening. The reason why is because the two leading actors, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, pulled out of the series. Miller opened up why he decided to leave the popular drama series. The Prison Break Star posted that he’s “done” playing straight characters on his Instagram account. He came out as gay back in 2013, and since then, he has decided to embrace his true self fully.
“I’m out. Of PB. Officially. Not because of static on social media (although that has centered the issue). I don’t want to play straight characters. Their stories have been told (and told).” He also added, “So. No more Michael. If you were a fan of the show, hoping for additional seasons… I understand this is disappointing. I’m sorry. If you’re hot and bothered bec you fell in love with a fictional straight man played by a real gay one… That’s your work. – W.M.”

Miller received a mix of positive and negative comments but, we are happy to see how supportive his fellow actors are. Sarah Wayne Callies emphasized how they support their friends and family in the LGBTQ+. Another co-star of Miller, Dominic Purcell, said that he fully supports Miller’s decision, and he is happy that Miller finally decided to come out and tell the truth.
Also, rumor has it that the scriptwriters ran out of ideas to write for Prison Break season 6. We don’t know for sure. We are still keeping our hopes up and wishing that we will be awakened up with an announcement that Prison Break Season 6 will return to our favorite streaming platform one day.

Kidding aside, Prison Break is a drama series that revolves around two brothers, Lincoln Burrows, played by Dominic Purcell, and Michael Scofield, portrayed by Wentworth Miller. Burrows was sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit. His brother then makes it his mission to be imprisoned in the same prison as his brother so he can both get them out from the inside.

Now you can binge-watch all day but, no spoilers, please! It is heartbreaking to know that we will not see more seasons of our favorite drama-suspense series on Netflix, but we genuinely respect Miller’s reason. We wanted to applaud him for making us fall in love with his character, just like the other cast did.
