Young Royals Season 2: Royalty and exclusive boarding schools don’t usually bring up phrases like relatable and heartwarming, but Young Royals manages to be both, making the Swedish adolescent drama one of the most binge-worthy shows to watch right now.
The show is far more addicting than you may expect.
The show has followers all around the world because of the show’s ability to hit the proper note – creating addictive TV that isn’t a teen puff piece.
The characters are diverse, and the difficult issues of early adulthood, such as drug usage, body image, se*, and drinking, are all handled with care.
Young Royals Season 2 Plot
Season one featured Prince Wilhelm as he juggled royal responsibilities with adolescent love at Hillerska Boarding School. At the end of the first season, Sweden’s next king had been forced to choose between the throne and his love for Simon, a fellow student from a less-than-regal background.
The couple’s relationship swiftly unraveled after August published a sex tape starring Wilhelm and Simon. Wilhelm was persuaded to hide his involvement to protect his family, but he betrayed Simon in doing so.
Wilhelm asks Simon in the season one finale whether they can continue to be together in secret. Anything more might jeopardize the Crown’s reputation.
But it isn’t good enough for Simon, so he calls it quits between them. Or so he believes; by the end, it’s evident that both teens still have feelings for each other.
Will Wilhelm continue to follow his mother’s desires in season two? We are skeptical. Given that he and Simon will still cross paths at Hillerska, there will be enough sexual tension to contend with in future episodes, assuming, of course, that Simon can forgive Wilhelm for what he did.
With a cliffhanger like that, Netflix definitely should renew the show.

If anyone is certain to return in Young Royals season two, it is Edvin Ryding as Prince Wilhelm. Expect the following people to join him:

Ryding and Rudberg are both emotionally invested in their characters.
“There are some characteristics about these people that we can identify to,” Ryding told Numero. “When it comes to his anxiety difficulties, I recognize myself in Wilhelms.”
I’ve done my homework on the royal families, but there’s so much more to it that we, as ordinary citizens, don’t get to know. As a result, we’ll never know what it’s like. I don’t think I’d want to be a young royal based on what I’ve read and seen.”
Following Crown Prince Erik’s death in season one, one celebrity who may not return is Ivar Forsling.
Erik, on the other hand, had a huge impact on Wilhelm. Therefore it’s highly possible that he’ll return for some flashback moments in season two.
Young Royals Season 2 Release Date
Young Royals will return for a second season, according to Netflix. Netflix has remained tight-lipped about the release date at the time of publication, but it will be in 2022.
Netflix programs often take a year or two to get a second season, but Young Royals’ first season was only six episodes, and with no special effects to consider, we wouldn’t be surprised if new episodes came before the end of the summer.
So far, the only thing we know for certain is that season two will premiere sometime in 2022.
Because the first season was launched on July 1, 2021, we anticipate that season two will be released in July 2022.
