Blood of Zeus Season 2: The animated series Blood of Zeus is one of the many fantastic consequences of Netflix’s growing interest in adult-targeted animated programming.
In the epic musical by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides, Heron, Zeus’s illegitimate son, discovers his ancestry and strives to embrace his heroism; a “lost chapter” of Greek mythology is explored.
What is Blood of Zeus All About?
The animated series Blood of Zeus premiered on Netflix in late 2020, but its phenomenal success on the platform has already piqued our interest in a second season.
Charley and Vlas Parlapanides conceived the series, which Powerhouse Animation Studios produce, the same team that brought you Castlevania and Seis Manos.
The demigod son of Zeus, Heron, strives to defend Olympus and Earth from the wrath of his half-demonic brother’s army and the envious Goddess Hera in ‘Blood of Zeus.’
The Netflix original series premiered on October 27, 2020, and has since created waves around the world.
After an extremely successful first season, let’s see what’s ahead for the series.
Blood of Zeus Season 2 Plot
Season 2 will build on the success of Season 1’s foundations, according to creators Charley and Vlas Parlapanides. According to an interview with Inverse, this week’s episodes are already in the works. “Heron and Seraphim’s adventures will continue in season two as they did in season one,” they add.
Season 2’s 20-page framework includes events from season 1 that will be fully developed in the second half of the series. We go back to when the brothers split the world into three parts: physical, spiritual, and intellectual.”
This is excellent news for fans of Jason O’Mara, who have been waiting for him to return as Thunder God. If Netflix continues to pick up the show, the Parlapanides brothers explain that they have a five-season storyline planned in a later interview. With so much Greek mythology at our hands, what could Blood of Zeus become?
Blood of Zeus Season 2 Cast
Derek Phillips as Heron, Jessica Henwick as Alexia, Elias Toufexis as Seraphim, Adam Croasdell as Apollo, and Matthew Mercer as Hermes are expected to reprise their roles from the previous season.
There’s no indication yet on who actors will be joining the show in the future. Zeus (Jason O’Mara) offered his life to protect his wife, Hera (Jennifer Garner), in the season 1 finale (Claudia Christian). Hera was in critical condition when we last saw her, but she managed to flee. She’s most likely planning her next attack.
Since gods in a magical universe are immortal and can be resurrected, resurrection is not ruled out (but more on that later). Simply put, fans shouldn’t say goodbye to these characters just yet.
Hades (Fred Tatasciore), a guest performer from last season, returns this season. The Greek underworld god is likely to be Season 2’s main adversary, which means Tatasciore will play a larger role.
Blood of Zeus Season 2 Release Date
It has shown to be fairly efficient at keeping a show’s tempo when employed in the context of animation. The anime’s second season, which began on December 29, 2021, has yet to be given a release date on Netflix. The renewal notice has been out for quite some time.
With an average production time of one year, it’s safe to assume that the next season of the anime will be available soon. The anime has been given a tentative comeback date of early 2022.
