According to Matt Cherniss, the head of the programming for Apple TV+“We have been so excited to watch global audiences embrace the captivating, suspenseful, and breathtaking thrill ride for the Foundation,” He added, “We know how long fans of Asimov stories have waited to see his iconic work brought to life as a visually spectacular event series, and now we can’t wait to showcase even more of the compelling storytelling in Season 2.”

It really displays the excitement from Cherniss that this should be what fans should await. There will be ten new cast members in the show that will surely bring a twist to the show.

Will Foundation Season 2 Happen?

Foundation Season 2

Apple TV+ has not released any official announcement yet about when Foundation Season 2 will air on their platform. The second instalment is only in its early stages of filming, so we can expect the release date to be late 2022 or 2023, given the fact that there could be a possibility of production delay due to the pandemic.

Foundation Season 1 Summary

As we all know, the ending from Season 1 shows the revelation that the clone from the emperor dynasty, which the Cleons (Lee Pace, Cassian Bilton, and Terrence Mann), has been bribed. And lastly, the meeting along with Salvor Hardin and her biological mother, Gaal Dornick.

What To Expect in Foundation Season 2?

Now, we can expect that one of the characters in Season 2 will appear as the immortal robot Demerzel who, in the Season 1 finale follows her order in programming and murdering a defective Cleon clone. Due to her guilt and agony, she ripped off her own face that revealed her robot skull beneath her face.

Demerzel believes that she had to live long enough, which in Season 2 we should hold on to. Despite her robotic character, she believes in the Luminism religion, which is the primary religion of the galaxy. In one of the episodes from The Missing Piece, she was confronted by Zephyr Halima, who stated that Demerzel has a soul. Season 2 focused on these two cliffhangers; the future of the Clemons and Gaal’s and Salvor’s great team-up; this caused them to introduce the Mule. Take note that a Second Seldon Crisis will take place and make up a large part of Season 2. As much as we want Foundation Season 2 Trailer
