Who has Joshua Bassett dated?

No matter how hard Joshua tries to keep his personal and love life private, some things can’t really escape from the media.

Olivia Rodrigo

Joshua and Olivia are both in the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and since then, fans are speculating that they are dating in real life. Neither of them confirmed nor denied the rumors, but what made the fans think that the two were really a couple was when Olivia released a heart-breaking song, Driver’s License.

Apparently, the song is for Joshua and his rumoured girlfriend, Sabrina Carpenter. The song instantly went viral and even topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks. He recalled how he received a lot of death threats because of the song.

“I would see TikToks with like 50 million views and 10 million likes saying, ‘If I ever see that kid on the street, I’m going to f*cking kill him,'” Bassett said in one of his interviews, adding, “I finally found the courage to speak up for myself.”

Joshua released a new single, Crisis, and it seems like it is a direct response to Olivia’s song.

“Don’t you ever wonder if I’m okay after all you put me through?” he sings in the chorus. “Half the sh*t you’re saying’s only half-true / Messing with my life as a career move.”

Joshua and Olivia haven’t spoken to each other since Driver’s License came out.

Sabrina Carpenter

In June 2020, Joshua and Sabrina were spotted together, speculating about them being an item. The rumors became strong when Sabrina took to social media and praised his music, saying that the track “Heaven Is You” was her personal favorite.

“I am in awe of your talent + the way you tell stories,” she wrote in an Instagram Stories post. “So happy this is out in the world!”

The two did not confirm any romantic relationship between them, but there are significant hints that the duo is dropping that made the fans confirm that the two are really dating.

August 2020, they were photographed together at lunch during another L.A. outing.

October 2020, Sabrina and Joshua were seen wearing matching Sharkboy and Lava Girl Halloween customers.

Not long after their rumored relationship came out, the feud between her, Olivia, and Joshua began. The three have been releasing songs that are directed towards each other.

Joshua and Sabrina have a new single called “We Both Know” and are set to release with his E.P. on March 12. Because of the issue between the three, the supposed collaboration of Joshua and Sabrina did not push through.

Joshua said, “I really want the focus to be on the art instead of some of the talk and the chatter. You shouldn’t live to please everybody, but at the same time, there are ways to be sensitive to situations where maybe [‘We Both Know’] has a better chance at a different time.”
