It’s a rather simple answer, really. Very early in the development of the movie, producer Sean McKittrick and the rest of the producers of the movie took the script to horror icon Clive Barker, who is credited with bringing new ideas and new blood to the horror films. Barker read the script and told the producers that there was only one character to be named in the upcoming film: Renfield.
Why Renfield? Because Renfield Dracula is the ultimate horror fan. He is the fanboy incarnate. The biggest horror fan ever. And having a character like Renfield be the one to tell you all about the Count, seemed to be the perfect way to go.

Who is playing Renfield?

Production of the Renfield Dracula Movie
In 2022, Filming for the movie began in New Orleans when several vehicles belonging to the production crew were burglarized. One security guard was present at the time of the incident, which occurred late at night in a secured parking lot. A number of items were stolen from his car, including insurance papers belonging to one of his crew members, and a laptop.
Even though he said that he felt that there wasn’t really any care about him or his team as much as there was for the main characters in the movie and actors, production assured all parties involved that they would hire additional security right then and there so that everyone could feel secure while going about their business day in and day out. Filming wrapped on April 14th, exactly one year prior to its release date!

Plot: What to expect from the movie
The movie is set in the 1890s and will follow Renfield (Nicholas Hoult) as he attempts to leave Dracula’s side and lead a normal life. However, his plans are disrupted when Dracula’s brides, who are in love with him, kidnap him to try and convince him to stay. The brides are portrayed by Ana Ularu. Renfield will eat flies, spiders and other living creatures, with “hundreds and hundreds” of props being created to satisfy his appetite.
