Puss in Boots 2 is confirmed to be released this 2022!
The movie’s second installment is entitled Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, a sequel to Puss in Boots released a decade ago, that is 2011, which was a spinoff to the cat character from Shrek.
The first Puss in Boots was a success and had an impressive international box office of $554 million which made the creators decide that it was only right to make a sequel.
Puss in Boots 2 is directed by Joel Crawford and co-directed by Januel Mercado. Christopher Melendandri and Chris Miller write it.

Puss in Boots 2: Official Release Date
After a long wait, the producers have finally decided and finished the movie’s production!
The movie’s first sequel was released 11 years ago, and who could have thought that there was a possibility of the movie returning this 2022.
Puss in Boots 2 is the longest wait for a Dreamworks Animation sequel, but fans are still happy to see it coming.
In November 2012, executive producer Guillermo del Toro said they had already done a couple of script drafts for a sequel.
In June 2014, the movie was titled Puss in Boots 2: Nine Lives & 40 Thieves and was released on November 2, 2018. but was, later on, was delayed to December 21, 2018.
However, Puss in Boots 2 was removed from the release schedule following corporate restructuring and DreamWorks Animation’s new policy to release two films a year, which is why it was not released.
Fortunately, in March 2021, Puss in Boots 2 was confirmed to release, and the film’s title was revealed to be Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

Puss in Boots 2 is scheduled to be released on September 23, 2022. Universal assures that it will bring back the smooth feline in a new adventure.

Puss in Boots 2: The Plot
If you are a fan of the character, you must have already watched the first sequel and how the storyline flows.
The goal of Universal and the creators was to introduce “fresh storylines to reintroduce the lovable ogre and the sword-wielding feline to new generations of moviegoers.“
In Puss in Boots 2, the main character discovers that his passion for adventure has taken its toll and that he has burned through eight of his nine lives, leaving him with only one life left.
Puss then sets out on an epic journey to find the mythical Last Wish and restore his nine lives.

As of this writing, we only have a few confirmed casts for the characters in the movie.
Luckily, Antonio Banderas will be back as the voice actor for the titular feline. Although, it is unclear who will be part of the supporting roles. Here’s a shortlist of who might be part of Puss in Boots 2:

Joining the movie crew is Joel Crawford the director’s chair for the upcoming sequel. Mark Swift, Chris Meledandri was credited for coming up with the story, and Chris Miller handled the screenplay.

Unfortunately, there is no available official trailer yet for the upcoming sequel of Puss in Boots.
