We have yet to wait for the announcement of FOX if the show is renewed for another season.

We have recently heard from Melissa Carter that things are looking very positive for a second season. In an interview, Carter mentioned, “They do want to hear our season 2 pitch, which Miranda and I are working on.”

What is The Cleaning Lady All About?

The Cleaning Lady is a drama that follows the story of Thony De La Rosa, a former Cambodian-Filipino medical doctor who is currently working and living in Las Vegas. The first season had ten episodes with a run time of 43 to 45 minutes.

The protagonist’s reason for being in the US on an expired visa is her five-year-old son, Luca. Luca has a rare and life-threatening medical disorder for which he needs a cutting-edge bone marrow treatment, and it is only available in Las Vegas.

In Season 1, the series showed how Thony accidentally witnesses a serious crime and is discovered hiding by the perpetrator. Later on, is offered a job both as a cleaner and a doctor within their criminal organization that could play well enough to help her son and her family.

Thony began to live a double life, keeping secrets from her family while cleaning up murder scenes and dodging the law.

According to Carter, “To start the season, we will have her drive being to get Luca back. We can’t divulge too much of how that happens,” Carter explained. “But we do have some exciting things planned for how she’s going to do that. Will she dip in and use her contacts within the FBI or the criminal world? Or is she just going to take it on herself?”
