The Disney classic is one of the beloved movies by the late 80’s and early 90’s kids, who all sing along with Ariel and her friends. Although the live-action remake has already been a hot topic for several years, Disney only confirmed that they will be releasing the film in 2023. The film will be directed by Rob Marshall and will be accompanied by star-studded casts.

The Little Mermaid 2023 The Plot

Since the Little Mermaid 2023 release date is already nearing, many speculations about the plot have been going around. While there have been numerous other live-action remakes, it is expected that the plot will likely follow the same core structure as the original, of course, adapting a modern touch to it.

If you have seen the original animated Disney film already, you know that Ariel is a mermaid princess, fascinated with human life. Her father, King Triton, always warned her that contacting humans is forbidden.

However, when she falls for Prince Eric on a visit to the surface, she makes a deal with Ursula, the sea witch, to turn her into becoming human. Ariel became human and succeeded in winning Prince Eric’s heart. But what’s a story without a conflict? Ursula tries to kill Ariel, though Prince Eric kills Ursula first. From there on, the two got married, and Ariel lived permanently as a human.
