Tidelands Season 2: Tidelands, a Netflix Original Series, nicely satisfies this desire by presenting viewers with a dark and twisted imagination throughout the series. The show boasts strong female leads and a compelling plot, so it’s well worth your time to watch.

“Tidelands” is a Netflix original series from Australia, which adds to the show’s mystery. Stephen Irwin and Leigh Mcgrath wrote and directed the picture, which Hoodlum Entertainment produced. Toa Fraser, Emma Freema, Catriona Mckenzie, and Daniel Nettheim are the show’s directors.

What is Tidelands All About?

Tidelands Season 2

The show is about the town of Orphelin Bay, which has been invaded by Tidelanders, a group of minacious individuals who are half-sirens and half-humans who have taken over the town.

Those familiar with Greek mythology will be aware that a siren is a dangerous monster infamous for luring sailors to their deaths by using lovely music and mystic whispers to entice them to a shipwreck.

Tidelands Season 2 Plot

Orphelin Bay, which has been overtaken by Tidelanders, a race of half-humans and half-sirens, is the setting for the show. A siren is a terrible monster from Greek mythology infamous for luring sailors to shipwrecks with enticing music and cryptic whispers.

Tidelands Season 2 will undoubtedly be linked to the first. In the first season alone, several notable characters died, with an average of five deaths per episode.

Cal McTeer, a ten-year prisoner for an alleged murder committed while he was still a teenager, is the protagonist of Tidelands. She travels back to Orphelin Bay, a tiny fishing village.

When the body of a local fisherman washes up on the shore, she is forced to investigate the town’s mysteries while researching its strange people. Some of them are deadly sirens–human hybrids known as “Tidelanders,” resulting from sirens and maritime fishermen having sexual relations on occasion.

After Adriella, played by Elsa Pataky, brutally injured her brother Augie (Aaron Jakubenko) and lover Dylan in the first season, Cal McTeer (Marco Pigossi) was left alone.

Cal is said to be half-human and half-siren, and if she defeats Adrielle, she could become the Tidelanders’ new queen. The sirens arrive at the beach to retrieve Cal after fighting Adrielle, and the first chapter ends with Cal being identified by the sirens.

Tidelands Season 2 Cast

It’s tough to state with certainty because so many characters died in the first season. But first, let’s say the obvious: we’re all coming back for the Tidelands Season 2 installment.

Charlotte Best will probably play Cal McTeer, the new Queen of the Tidelanders. Gilles, played by Fin Little, should also return, and Bijou, played by Chloe De Los Santos, was saved by Cal. Therefore, Bijou should also return. Augie and Dylan were able to return for a Tidelands Season 2 despite their injuries.

It’s uncertain whether Elsa Pataky would reprise her role as Adrielle after being defeated as Queen of the Tidelanders. Other cast members who potentially return include Richard Davies (Colton Raxter), Dalip Sondhi (Lamar Cloudier), Mattias Inwood (Corey Welch), and Jacek Koman (Gregori Stolin).

To put it plainly, it’s a risky proposition. Netflix hasn’t confirmed if the show will be renewed, but given that it’s been over three years since it first aired.

Netflix typically waits two to three months after extensively studying a show’s success, metrics, and numbers throughout that time before announcing its renewal. The fact that the show received mixed reviews from critics adds to the surprise of the situation.

On the other hand, Tidelands has a seven-star rating on IMDb and an 86 percent acceptance rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans can expect an international sequel if the series does well in Australia.

Executive producer Nathan Mayfield said that Netflix’s choice to develop Tidelands was “based on a lot of stuff in Australia, but nothing that felt important.” Everything appeared genuine to an Australian audience, but they hadn’t given it any thought as global production, in my opinion.

One of Tideland’s virtues, according to him, is that Netflix allows the writers to be “big, adventurous, and play in worlds that are rarely seen on Australian television—in crime, thriller, and supernatural.”
