In the finale of Season 1, Nathan wakes up along with the residents of Lake View after the upgrade. He remembers that Ingrid’s father came to him to buy his and Jamie’s well-known software with the upgrade. However, Jamie is unwilling to sell it; Nathan is willing to bypass Jamie and give Ingrid’s father the code for a few extra bucks. As the memory torments him, he becomes the bad guy and pretends not to remember Nora.
Sadly, Nora finds out Nathan’s true intentions to betray Jamie. Afterwhich, Nathan heads to the 2GB room and plans to call Nora. He used his data to let Nora know the truth that he clearly remembers her, but he is still embarrassed to admit it.

Moreover, when they had their conversation, someone broke into Nora’s room, thrilling her to flee the scene. While the incident is happening, Nathan uses his coding genius ideas to access CCTV cameras and help Nora escape. The pursuer is later assailed in an elevator. After confiding in her father about that, Nora calls Nathan to confess her love for him. But Data has used up all his data, left frozen on the call without a reply.
